Fantastic food experience We visited Mzansi in October 2022 with our 2 adult children on the basis of recommendation from a friend of my sons. It is a little outside the centre of Cape Town in a less 'fancy' area but the cab ride was not expensive. Buffet style food was fantastic, so much choice for us and our vegan son and staff super friendly and informative. We were given an intro to the history of the restaurant and the area and had a chance to chat to the guy who was looking after us. We had a great time and cant recommend highly enough for something different and very high quality food.

Must visit when in Cape Town!! Wonderful staff, delicious food, great music and a real experience. A night of entertainment and love! Uber drivers will still drive, or else the staff has drivers to call considering the restaurant being in a township. Felt safe all the way! Have some cash ready for tips to the band.

A unique experience Family restaurant, friendly people, fantastic local musicians, excellent food at incredible prices! And all this in a townsville that you normally would not enter, so yes taxis to go there and get back. However, we lingered in front of the hotel, dancing with local boys and girls and spent a memorable evening!

Leukste avond in Kaapstad! Doen!

An experience we wouldn't want to miss We just came back from this dinner and I immediately want to write this review as the guys deserve it! The food was local and delicious!! The band was amazing and made us all dance. Don't worry about the area as it's in a township. We felt safe and welcome at all times. Uber will take you there easily.

You don't want to miss this! Unique experience having dinner in the home of this lovely family with amazing food, music, dancing, meeting people. It was the best evening on our trip and will make you forget about all the fancy restaurants in the city. If you are worried about going to this area - don't be. Uber will bring you there and the hosts expect you already with a warm welcome at the door. You haven't experienced the real Cape Town if you don't also see this side of it!

Y aller absolument !

Fantastic! Despite Mzansi being located in a “sketchy” area of Cape Town, do not let that discourage you from getting a reservation. The food is fantastic, and the malva pudding is to die for. However, for me, the highlight was the band which played the entire time and absolutely crushed it. Would highly recommend if you are ever in Cape Town.

Wonderful restaurant to visit in the middle of Cape Town Township of Langa The food, service, and staff were so authentic and wonderful examples of South African cuisine. This is located inside one of Cape Town's largest townships of Langa. The restaurant is located in the front part of a home and truly the food and staff are incredible experiences. If you are a foreign traveler, don't miss an opportunity to have a Guide take you to tour the townships and eat at Mzansi which is right in the middle of Langa Township. You may feel intimidated or perhaps fearful going to the townships.......don't miss this part of your trip!

Amazing food amazing people We went for dinner, 4 of us and were blown away. Not only did they open up just for us (they only open with minimum 6 people), they cooked the most amazing food, spoke with us, talked to us about the area (Langa) and just made the evening wonderful. The view from the restaurant is also absolutely stunning. A truly South African resultant and an absolute MUST for anyone visiting Cape Town.

We loved our night out at Mzansi! It’s a real cultural hub in Langa, with local musicians, delicious and authentic South African food, and a painting demonstration by a local artist. The staff were all wonderful and their cooks, “the Mommas,” are amazing. The entire restaurant was up dancing by the end of the night. It is a real local neighbourhood, so staff met us outside as we got out of the car and waited with us at the end of the night to see us off safely, as well. Highly recommend making this a must-visit in your Cape Town travels.

We felt looked after from the moment we entered Langa until the end of our wonderful evening. Mzansi has amazing home-cooked food and the most wonderful vibe with fantastic music. One of our group was vegetarian and had plenty of tasty food. We drove there ourselves and could park securely. We had the restaurant to ourselves as an 8 person group and this was the highlight of the trip for the family members who visited us from abroad.

Is it safe to go to Langa?

Mzanzi is located close to the main road outside Langa and you can drive directly to the restaurant. As one of the best African Restaurants Cape Town has to offer, we are very engaged with our customers safety and the site is well-secured and in close proximity to the Langa Police Station. The restaurant focuses on social responsibility by aim-ing to uplift the standard of living in Langa. When you eat at Mzanzi, you are part of that uplifting and the people of Langa know that. We have never had any incidents of trouble and expect to keep that record.
